Patience is a virtue

My son’s favorite book right now is an Elephant and Piggie book called Waiting is Not Easy!  Wow do I ever understand that statement more and more these days. For just about the past year of my life I have been working on this book project and now that I’m FINALLY at a place where it’s all coming together and is almost ready for release I’m finding myself edgy and jittery, and slightly cranky. Waiting is not easy.

Building this website when I know NOTHING about building websites is not easy. Asking ya’ll to have patience with me as I learn it is NOT easy. Can you tell I’m into instant gratification? When I put my mind to something I want it done NOW 🙂 Guess I know where my son gets his impatience.

But GUYYYYYYS….I WROTE A BOOK!!!!! ME! I did it! Seriously there are people out there in my life, who know me (or knew me) and are saying “No freaking way did Susan write a book and if she did, I’m sure it sucks” and you know what? Several years ago, I would’ve said the exact same thing about myself! But life happens and we change and our priorities change and our feelings change and if there is anything I’ve learned from this writing process it is that writing is one the most healing exercises we can do for ourselves. It’s therapeutic. It’s fun and It’s freeing!

I have a saying on my inspiration wall in the room where I do my writing that says:

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction
ends up being the biggest step of your life.
Tip toe if you must,
but take the step.

I couldn’t be prouder of myself for taking the step(s) that I’ve taken to get where I am right now and I’m praying that this step leads me to bigger and better things for my life and for the life of my family.

THANK YOU all for supporting my venture. THANK YOU for reading my book. THANK YOU for all of your words of encouragement and kindness. They mean more to me than you will ever know!

Info about Release Day Blitzes and Blog Tours will be coming SOON!!!!!!
